Roadmap
Stern Plásticos has outlined an infrastructure upgrade plan aimed at improving sustainability, operational efficiency, and job creation. The roadmap includes three strategic investments in essential machinery to modernize its recycling processes. The first investment includes the installation of a sustainable water filtration system and an eco-efficient agglutinator. The 20m³ settling tank enables the reuse of water from the washing and grinding processes through a closed-loop system that separates sand and impurities. This reduces water consumption, minimizes environmental impact, and preserves equipment. The agglutinator then densifies the plastic flakes using heat and friction, creating uniform material ready for extrusion—enhancing pellet quality while reducing energy usage in the next stage. The second investment is a new high-efficiency grinding machine that processes larger volumes of plastic waste into uniform flakes. Beyond increasing production capacity and improving material flow, this equipment will make operations significantly more sustainable by lowering energy usage and reducing waste during processing. It also supports the creation of formal jobs in the operations team. Finally, the third investment covers the acquisition of two industrial centrifugal dryers. These machines remove moisture from plastic after washing, accelerating the drying phase and boosting productivity. Their energy-efficient design helps cut consumption while supporting continuous production and future operational expansion. This roadmap reinforces Stern Plásticos' commitment to circular economy leadership—delivering measurable environmental benefits and generating inclusive economic opportunities
